Trial date set for 2019 Pontiac murder case - The Oakland Press

A new trial date is set for a felon accused of killing a Pontiac man in 2019.

Jury selection is scheduled to start Nov. 29 in Oakland County Circuit Court for the case against Lewis Terrelle McNeir, 34, charged with first-degree premeditated murder, felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the slaying of Dennis “Bo” Lee III, age 26. Lee died Aug. 25, 2019 after being shot twice in the torso.

Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies called to the scene at around 5 a.m. that day found Lee lying in the doorway of a house in the 700 block of Whittemore Street, and he was pronounced dead a short time later at a local hospital.

McNeir was identified as a suspect in the case  case and surrendered to authorities on Aug. 30, 2019.

The trial will be held before Judge Yasmine Poles.

Trial had been scheduled twice before, but was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions at the courthouse.

McNeir has a prior conviction for armed robbery.

According to Lee’s obituary, he was the father of two.
