When the cancellations were first announced May 13, both shows were expected to resume the evening of May 17. Now, Which Way to the Stage is expected to resume May 20 at the Newman Mills Theater and Soft will begin its run May 24 at the The Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater, both located in The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space.
Additional performances of Which Way to the Stage have been added to the run, extending performances through June 5 despite being originally slated to close May 22. After the first cancellation, it was extended to May 28.
Which Way to the Stage is directed by Mike Donahue and follows two Broadway fans waiting outside the If/Then stage door hoping to get an autograph from star Idina Menzel. The cast includes Sas Goldberg (Significant Other), Max Jenkins (Unnatural Acts), Evan Todd (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), and Michelle Veintimilla (The Baker and the Beauty).
Donja R. Love's Soft was slated to begin previews May 12 before officially opening June 6. The story follows a correctional boarding school teacher, Mr. Isaiah, and his response to one of his students dying by suicide. Featured in the cast are Leon Addison Brown as Mr. Cartwright, Biko Eisen-Martin as Mr. Isaiah, Dharon Jones as Antoine, Essence Lotus as Dee, Travis Raeburn as Bashir, Shakur Tolliver as Kevin, Dario Vazquez as Jamal, and Ed Ventura as Eddie.
