COVID-19 case count in Larimer County grows by 300 - Loveland Reporter-Herald

The ongoing count of people in Larimer County who have contracted COVID-19 grew by 300 with new numbers reported Saturday.

The Larimer County Department of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard reports a total of 22,806 cases, up by 300 from the count reported on Thursday.

The new cases ranged from a 1-year-old girl in Berthoud and 1-year-old boy in Loveland to an 84-year-old woman in Loveland.

That woman was the only person in her 80s listed, and there were just four people in their 70s and 12 in their 60s, as more older people have been vaccinated and the average age of those contracting the virus goes down.

The count included 32 children under 13, 46 teenagers, 83 in their 20s, 52 in their 30s, 40 in their 40s and 30 in their 50s.

Nearly two-third of the new cases, a total of 181, were reported among Fort Collins residents.

Another 63 were in Loveland residents, 21 among Berthoud residents, and fewer than 10 cases were reported in the towns of Estes Park, Johnstown, Laporte, Livermore, Timnath, Wellington and Windsor.

Thirty-three of the new cases were listed as probable and the rest were confirmed.

The county’s risk score is listed as high and its spot on the state’s dial is level yellow for concern.

On Saturday the 14-day case rate reached 359 cases per 100,000 residents.
The number of deaths remained unchanged at 233, and no new vaccination numbers were reported Saturday.
