COVID-19 case tally: 1.28 million cases globally, 69,555 deaths - MarketWatch

The number of cases of COVID-19 around the world rose to 1.28 million on Monday, while the number of fatalaties rose to 69,555, according to aggregated data from Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering's Centers for Systems Science and Engineering. At least 264,439 people around the world have recovered from the novel coronavirus that has sickened people in 183 countries, the data show. The U.S still has the most number of cases worldwide, at 337,646 and at least 9,648 deaths. Another 17,582 people have recovered. In Europe, Spain has 131,646 cases and 12,641 deaths. Italy has 128,948 cases and 15,887 fatalaties, making it the highest in the world. Germany has the fourth highest tally at 100,123 but just 1,584 deaths. France has 93,780 cases and 8,093 deaths. China, where the virus was first reported late last year, has 82,641 cases and 3,335 deaths. Iran, another hot spot, has 58,226 cases and 3,603 deaths.
