CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The second case of coronavirus in West Virginia has been confirmed, the state Department of Health and Human Resources announced Wednesday.
The department said the individual is a Mercer County resident. The person is being treated at their home.
The first confirmed test was announced Tuesday. The person, James Vigil, of Shepherdstown, was notified the same day of his diagnosis.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources said both positive cases are linked to travel.
The state public health lab has tested 148 West Virginians for the coronavirus; 143 test results have come back negative, and three other results are pending.
