Jefferson County public health officials reported the second confirmed case of COVID-19 in as many days Wednesday.
A mid-county woman in her 50s tested positive for coronavirus, according to Jefferson County Public Health.
Health officials said there were two residents in isolation March 17.
The two new cases reported Tuesday and Wednesday came after two weeks of no new positive test results for COVID-19 in two weeks. One of the persons infected this week was hospitalized because of the disease, according to Jefferson County Public Health.
The total number of COVID infections rose to 338 Wednesday.
All told, 33 Jefferson county residents were still awaiting COVID-19 test results Wednesday.
According to Jefferson County Public Health, a total of 20,192 tests have been administered for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 19,821 tests have come back negative.
Through March 17, 155 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 151 in mid-county residents; and 32 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).
Based on gender, 173 males have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in Jefferson County, and 165 females have tested positive.
A total of 25 residents have been hospitalized for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and two deaths have been linked to COVID-19.
County health officials reported that 328 people have recovered from COVID-19.
People are considered "recovered" at 28 days from the onset of symptoms if they are alive and not hospitalized, according to the state Department of Health.
