Fort Worth police have made an arrest in connection with a cold-case murder that has been unsolved for nearly 50 years, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported.
Jail records show that Glen Samuel McCurley was arrested Monday and is being held in the Tarrant County Jail on a charge of capital murder with bond set at $100,000. Police say his arrest is in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Carla Walker, the outlet reported.
Walker was taken out of her boyfriend’s car in February 1974 at a bowling alley, and her body was found a few days later in a culvert near Benbrook Lake. Police said she had been beaten, raped, tortured and strangled.
The case has remained unsolved but regained interest from the public and investigators last year when a handwritten letter with information related to the case was mailed to a Fort Worth detective.
No other information about the arrest was immediately available.
