Delaware County’s COVID-19 positivity rate and number of active cases are up for the first time in three weeks.

Delaware County’s positivity rate currently sits at 12%. That’s up from 10.8% a week ago. The positivity rate reflects the past 14-day average of positive COVID-19 cases, based upon the total number of people tested in the county.

On Monday, Delaware County Public Health reported the county has 58 active positive cases. That’s more than the 32 active cases the county had last week Monday. One of those residents is hospitalized, while the others are recovering at home.

The number of Delaware County COVID-19 deaths still stands at three.

Delaware County gained 54 new positive cases this past week – that’s more than double the number of new cases from the week before when 23 new cases were reported. The Iowa Department of Public Health says as of Monday, over 3,600 Delaware County residents have been tested, with 339 testing positive since April – that’s just slightly under two percent of the county’s population.
