1 new Covid-19 case in Dare County - The Outer Banks Voice

Statewide, hospitalizations fall below 900

Dare County reported only 1 new COVID-19 case on Sept. 2, bringing the total number of reported cases here to 460 since the onset of the pandemic. The individual reported testing positive today is a female non-resident between the ages of 50-64 who has been transferred to another county to isolate.

Today’s NC coronavirus numbers – Sept 2

What’s new today:  Hospitalizations fall below 900.

• Reported NC cases – 170,553 (up 1,129 from yesterday)
• Reported NC deaths – 2,779
• Currently hospitalized – 858
• Suspected COVID-19 cases hospitalized in past 24 hours – 388 (up 22 from yesterday)
• Confirmed COVID-19 case hospitalized in past 24 hours – 123 (up 18 from yesterday)
• Adults in ICU with COVID-19 – 282 (up 12 from yesterday)
• Patients presumed to be recovered –145.884   
• County with most cases– Mecklenburg (25,703) 
• Reported cases in Dare, Currituck and Hyde Counties – 672 (Dare 460, Currituck 112, Hyde 100)
• Completed tests – 2,315,310
• % of cases by age group – 0-17 (11%), 18-24 (16%), 25-49 (42%), 50-64 (19%), 65+ (13%)
• % of cases by gender – female (52%), male (48%)
• Number of cases in NC congregate living facilities (nursing homes, residential care facilities, jails) – (17,118)

Note: Every morning, the NC Department of Health and Human Services posts updates o number of reported cases of coronavirus. That number reflects positive results from all tests, including the NC State Laboratory of Public Health and all hospital and commercial labs. There may be other reports, from the media and elsewhere, that will include different numbers during a given day, but this is an effective way of tracking numbers from the same source on a day-to-day basis.
