Alabama adds 1,949 new coronavirus cases; Jefferson County tops 10,000 case mark - AL.com

Alabama added nearly 2,000 coronavirus cases since yesterday.

The Alabama Department of Public Health’s July 25 10 a.m. numbers show a total of 76,314 cases in the state, an increase of 1,949 from the day before. There have been 1,413 deaths, an increase of 18 since yesterday’s figures were posted.

The largest case increase  - 286 - was in Jefferson County, which now has had 10,095 COVID-19 cases. Jefferson County also has reported the greatest number of deaths at 200.

Statewide, Alabama has tested 639,795 people for COVID-19, 172,595 in the last 14 days. Of those recent tests, 23,843 have been positive. The state lists 32,510 presumptive recoveries from the virus.

As of yesterday, 1,524 people in the state were hospitalized due to COVID.
