UPDATE: COVID-19 case tally: 1.36 million cases worldwide, 74,870 deaths - MarketWatch

The number of cases of COVID-19 around the world rose to 1.36 million on Tuesday, while the number of fatalaties rose to 74,870 according to aggregated data from Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering's Centers for Systems Science and Engineering. At least 285,437 people around the world have recovered from the novel coronavirus that has sickened people in 184 countries, the data show. The U.S still has the most number of cases worldwide, at 368,449 and 10,993 deaths. Another 19,919 people have recovered. In Europe, Spain has 140,510 cases and 13,341 deaths. Spain saw the first rise in fatalities in four days, as the death toll rose by 743 to 13,798, said Spain's health ministry. Italy has 132,547 cases and 16,523 fatalaties, making it the highest in the world. (Italy's numbers have not updated yet). Germany has the fourth highest tally at 103,375 but just 1,810 deaths. France has 98,984 cases and 8,926 deaths. China has 82,718 cases and 3,335 deaths. Iran, another hot spot, has 62,589 cases and 3,739 deaths.
