Two students from the Upper Darby School District were suspended this week after shooting classmates with an airsoft gun, according to reports.

WPVI reports that district officials reached out to parents with details of the shooting on Wednesday after being notified by a bus driver.

The shooting began at a bus stop for students at Charles Kelly Elementary, where a fourth-grader brought the plastic pellet gun, WPVI reported.

The student shot two classmates in the legs, and one in the arm, then boarded the bus, the outlet reported. While on the bus, the same student shot the third classmate in the arm.

Finally, the airsoft gun was given to another student and the gun was fired once more at the student whose arm had been shot, officials told parents.

No students told the bus driver about the shootings, but a bus driver was aware of some commotion that prompted them to intervene, WPVI reports. The driver got the gun away from students and reported it to school security.

School officials told parents there were no injuries but called the situation “very serious,” WPVI reported.

There is an ongoing investigation into the incident, but school officials said students have been suspended, WPVI reported.

It is unclear if the students involved will face any criminal charges, WPVI reported.
