Judge's son faces seven felony counts in Attempted Murder case - Shelbyville Times-Gazette

A Bedford County grand jury returned an indictment of 25-year-old Samuel Rich on Monday on seven counts in connection with the Aug. 13 shooting of a woman in the head at the Temple Ford Road home of 22-year-old  Will Warner

Rich is also a suspect in the murder of Will Warner whose body was found Aug. 13 in Nashville. Nashville police said Warner had been shot several times. Investigators believe Warner was killed in Nashville.  Nashville police are investigating that case.

Rich is the son of Bedford County General Sessions court judge Charles L. Rich. 

Samuel Rich has been charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony (attempted murder), theft of a 2021 Jeep Cherokee (belonging to Will Warner), Aggravated Burglary (entering Will Warners home to commit a felony), a second Burglary count (for entering the home of Will Warner with intent to commit a felony that resulted in the “serious bodily injury” to the woman he shot), and Tampering with Evidence (for knowingly destroying or concealing evidence in a criminal case.)

In the listing of charges in the indictment it was noted that Rich had been convicted of felony Possession of Drugs for Resale on Sept. 17, 2018.
