Jaguars subpoenaed in federal Chris Doyle case - Big Cat Country

Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars have been subpoenaed in a federal court case involving former Iowa football Strength Coach Chris Doyle.

Doyle is in federal court stemming from a federal discrimination suit filed against him by Black former athletes at the University of Iowa, according to Yahoo Sports’ Jason Owens. According to Owens, the court is asking Meyer and the Jaguars for “information” on Doyle, as well as their communication with and about Doyle. General Manager Trent Baalke is also named in the subpoena.

Meyer and Baalke sent a response to the subpoena, which says: “We respect and will cooperate with the legal process as required. However, the Jaguars have no information that would be relevant to the lawsuit between student-athletes and the University of Iowa.”

Doyle and the University of Iowa parted ways amidst many claims of racism and biased behavior based on race in 2020. The Jaguars hired Doyle eight months after his departure from Iowa, but resigned 48 hours later.
