Case update: Arkansas COVID-19 cases increase by 103 Monday - Fayetteville Flyer


The Arkansas Department of Health announced that COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 103 on Monday.

The state announced two new deaths as a result of the virus, bringing the total number of deaths in the state as a result of the pandemic to 5,863.

Hospitalizations went down by 3, bringing the total number of Arkansans hospitalized in the state to 203. There are 48 patients on ventilators, up eight from the day prior.

There are currently 2,035 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods. The ADH dashboard currently lists 105 active cases in Washington County and 111 in Benton County.

There were 1,173 PCR tests conducted in the state and 107 antigen tests.

The new cases bring the total cumulative count in Arkansas to 344,067 since the pandemic began.

The state announced that 1,752 additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, bringing the total number of doses given by the state to 2,051,260. The state lists 230,049 as partially immunized, and 945,926 individuals as fully immunized.

All Arkansans 12 and older are currently eligible for a vaccine.
