Here are updates about coronavirus cases in Brevard, according to the Florida Department of Health, as of Aug. 5, 2020.

Brevard registered almost 10 new deaths and 41 new coronavirus cases, according to Wednesday data from the Florida Department of Health.

The FDOH dashboard and state COVID-19 report each list the county's death total at 132, an increase of nine from the previous day. However, only eight of those deaths are counted in the FDOH linelist report, which provides age, gender and minimal details about the victim's COVID case (see below).

It's important to note the exact dates of these deaths are not made public by the department of health; it's unlikely these people died in a one-day period. Often there is a lag between the person's death and when it is reported by the FDOH.

Here's info about eight of those deaths:

• an 84-year-old female whose case was not travel-related. It is not known whether she had contact with a known case. Her case was confirmed July 8.

• a 69-year-old female whose case was not travel-related. She did have contact with a known case, and her case was confirmed July 8.

• an 81-year-old female whose case was not travel-related. She did have contact with a known case, and her case was confirmed July 11.

• an 85-year-old female whose case was not travel-related. It is not known whether she had contact with a known case. Her case was confirmed July 11.

• a 92-year-old male whose case was not travel-related. It is not known whether he had contact with a known case. His case was confirmed July 16.

• a 90-year-old female whose case was not travel-related. She did have contact with a known case. Her case was confirmed July 26.

• an 80-year-old male whose case was not travel-related. It is not known whether he had contact with a known case. His case was confirmed July 28.

• an 83-year-old male whose case was not travel-related. He did have contact with a known case. His case was confirmed July 31.
