Here are updates about coronavirus cases in Brevard, according to the Florida Department of Health, as of June 3, 2020.
Brevard registered one new coronavirus case, for a total of 428 people testing positive since the pandemic began, according to Wednesday morning's state Department of Health data.
There were no new deaths, according to the FDOH.
On Tuesday, Brevard County Commissioner Curt Smith told FLORIDA TODAY: "Last week, we added 26 additional cases. Epidemiology staff continues to interview, investigate, and conduct contact tracing for all positive cases."
According to the DOH reports, here's the breakdown of the 26 confirmed COVID-19 cases in one week:

As far as testing, Smith said, "23,404 tests have been administered in our county through community partners and DOH-Brevard. The overall positivity rate is 2%. Over the last 24 hours we have had 567 labs report out with a 0.5% positivity rate."
The latest death, reported Monday, was a 71-year-old female. Her case was not travel-related, and it was unknown whether she had contact with a confirmed case, FDOH data shows. She was a Florida resident and her case was counted May 14. In all, Brevard has lost 13 people to the coronavirus, and victims ranged in age from 71 to 94 years old.
The FDOH always cautions that its data is provisional and subject to change.

The Brevard cases involve 417 residents and 11 non-residents. They range in age from 1 to 99 with a median age of 58. Of the Brevard residents, 192 are men and 225 female, FDOH data show.
The county has seen 64 hospitalizations. It's important to note that number does not refer to people currently hospitalized; instead, it's people who sought hospital treatment at some point. According to Smith, as of 8 a.m. Tuesday, Brevard had seven active COVID patients hospitalized with one on a ventilator.
The state DOH does not provide a count of people recovered.

The number of cases in Florida as of Wednesday morning was 58,764, up 1,317 from the previous day; 57,293 of those cases are Florida residents, FDOH data show. As of Tuesday, there have been 2,566 deaths, an increase of 36 from the previous day, and 10,525 hospitalizations. In total, 1,081,825 people have been tested with 58,764 positive and 1,022,149 negative, or 5.4% testing positive.
As of Wednesday, FDOH data show Brevard had tested 24,033, with 428 testing positive and 23,603 testing negative since the pandemic began. The county's percent positive is 1.8%.
