The first case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Washington, D.C., according to Mayor Muriel Bowser.
The public health lab at the D.C. Department of Forensic Sciences confirmed the "presumptive positive" test Saturday afternoon, Bowser said on Twitter.
She is scheduled to hold a briefing tonight at 7:30 p.m. on the situation.
POLITICO has confirmed that the person who tested positive in D.C. is not the person with coronavirus who attended the recent Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, or either of the two attendees of AIPAC’s recent Washington conference who tested positive.
The city did not release further details about the new case.
