Weld County officials reported 1,254 new COVID-19 cases this past week, increasing the county’s cumulative case count to 21,109 in the past week.
The county’s two-week average positive test rate is at 9.56%, down from 9.72% a week ago. That rate has continued to trend downwards since early December. In the Greeley area, that rate is 8.55%. Southeast Weld County continues to have the highest positive test rate in the county, at 11.33%.
There are 170 COVID-19 patients at Weld regional hospitals, down from 197 hospitalizations the week prior. There are 252 hospital beds, 78 ICU beds and 102 ventilators available. A week ago, there were 230 hospital beds, 73 ICU beds and 90 ventilators. The seven-day rolling average percent of beds occupied by COVID-19 patients is down to 10.9%.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported 31 active COVID-19 outbreaks this week across Weld County. The department this past week started reporting the total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases and is no longer showing in the data how many of those cases are lab-confirmed vs. probable:
- Kenton Manor: Two staff cases. Outbreak began Jan. 1.
- Primrose School of Erie at Vista: Three staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 30.
- Eagles Nest Aviator Homes: Two resident cases. Outbreak began Dec. 28.
- Cold Weather Shelter: 13 resident cases and one staff case. Outbreak began Dec. 21.
- Sheep Draw Veterinary Hospital: Six staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 15.
- Eaton High School: 21 student cases and four staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 14.
- Good Samaritan Society-Bonell Community: Four resident cases and 15 staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 11.
- Columbine Commons Assisted Living: 14 resident cases and 17 staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 7.
- King Soopers, 6922 10th St.: 30 staff cases. Outbreak began Dec. 4.
- Fairacres Manor: Four resident cases and 10 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 30.
- Target-Greeley: 13 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 30.
- Erie Middle School: Nine student cases and one staff case. Outbreak began Nov. 22.
- Alternative Homes for Youth: 10 resident cases and seven staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 19.
- JBS Greeley Beef Plant: 80 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 17.
- Boulder Scientific Company: Nine staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 17.
- Vestas Blades-Windsor: 37 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 16.
- Vestas Blades-Brighton: 41 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 9.
- McLane Western: 72 staff cases. Outbreak began Oct. 30.
- Life Care Center of Greeley: 27 resident cases and 27 staff cases. 10 resident deaths. Outbreak began Oct. 29.
- Nature’s Herbs and Wellness Center: Seven cases among staff. Outbreak began Oct. 28.
- JBS Corporate: 56 staff cases. Outbreak began Oct. 19.
- Grace Pointe Continuing Care Senior Campus: 24 resident cases and 34 staff cases. Three resident deaths. Outbreak began Sept. 30.
- Greeley West High School: Eight staff cases and 13 student cases. Outbreak began Nov. 9. No new cases since the week of Dec. 23.
- Carestream Health Inc.: 16 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 6. No new cases since the week of Dec. 23.
- West Ridge Animal Hospital: Six staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 25. No new cases since the week of Dec. 23.
- Weld County Jail: 78 inmate cases, 26 staff cases and one inmate death. Outbreak began April 1. No new cases since the week of Dec. 16.
- Tagawa Greenhouse Enterprises: Seven staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 25. No new cases since the week of Dec. 16.
- Owen’s Illinois: 29 staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 19. No new cases since the week of Dec. 9.
- City of Evans Police Department: Seven staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 2. No new cases since the week of Nov. 25.
- Summit Bodyworks: Six staff cases. Outbreak began Nov. 10. No new cases since the week of Nov. 11.
- Town of Firestone: 11 staff cases. Outbreak began Oct. 27. No new cases since the week of Nov. 4.
Weld County officials reported nine COVID-19 deaths in the past week, bringing the total number of deaths to 182. The state reported 288 deaths among people who died with COVID-19 in Weld, an increase of six.
Weld County, along with other Level Red counties throughout the state, was moved to the Level Orange: High Risk phase this week. The county’s two-week cumulative incidence rate remains in the Level Red zone, at 631. The county’s two-week average positivity rate, 10.1%, according to the state, is in the Level Orange zone. Hospitalizations, which are tracked by the county of residence of patients, have declined or remained stable for 10 days.
