COVID-19: Weld County case, testing and outbreak data for the week of Dec. 23 - Greeley Tribune

Weld County officials reported 1,026 new COVID-19 cases in the past week, raising the cumulative case count to 18,916.

The county’s two-week average positive test rate is at 10.69%, down from 13.96% a week ago. In the Greeley area, that rate is down to 9.97%. North Weld County continues to have the highest positive test rate in the county, at 13.13%, down from 19.62% a week ago.

There are 236 COVID-19 patients at Weld regional hospitals, of which there are 12. That’s down from 273 hospitalizations the week prior. There are 286 hospital beds, 48 ICU beds and 84 ventilators available. A week ago, there were 222 hospital beds, 60 ICU beds and 57 ventilators. The seven-day rolling average percent of beds occupied by COVID-19 patients is down to 15.4%.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported 39 active COVID-19 outbreaks this week across Weld County:

1. Cold Weather Shelter: Six lab-confirmed and two probable cases among residents. One case among staff. Outbreak began Monday.
2. Sheep Draw Veterinary Hospital: Three lab-confirmed cases and one probable case among staff. Outbreak began Dec. 15.
3. Eaton High School: 17 lab-confirmed cases and one probable case among students. Three cases among staff. Outbreak began Dec. 14.
4. MeadowView of Greeley: Two cases among residents. Two lab-confirmed cases and one probable case among residents. Outbreak began Dec. 14.
5. Good Samaritan Society-Bonell Community: Four cases among residents and 13 cases among staff. Outbreak began Dec. 11.
6. 19th Judicial District Probation: Three cases among staff. Outbreak began Dec. 11.
7. UNC-Delta Sigma Phi-Zeta Kappa Chapter: Four cases. Outbreak began Dec. 10.
8. Caroline’s Clean Team: Two cases. Outbreak began Dec. 9.
9. Columbine Commons Assisted Living: 13 cases among residents and 16 cases among staff. Outbreak began Dec. 7.
10. State Farm Greeley Operations Center: Six cases. Outbreak began Dec. 7.
11. King Soopers, 6922 10th St.: 28 cases among staff. Outbreak began Dec. 4.
12. Assisted Living at Greeley: 12 cases among residents and five cases among staff. Outbreak began Dec. 2.
13. Windsor Healthcare Center: 89 cases among residents and 74 cases among staff. Seven resident deaths. Outbreak began Dec. 1.
14. Columbine Commons Health and Rehab: Seven lab-confirmed and two probable cases among residents. 20 cases among staff. Outbreak began Nov. 30.
15. Fairacres Manor: Four cases among residents and five cases among staff. Outbreak began Nov. 30.
16. Target-Greeley: 11 lab-confirmed cases. Outbreak began Nov. 30.
17. West Ridge Animal Hospital: Five lab-confirmed cases and one probable case. Outbreak began Nov. 25.
18. Tagawa Greenhouse Enterprises: Five lab-confirmed and two probable cases. Outbreak began Nov. 25.
19. Garden Square of Greeley: 18 cases among residents and 10 cases among staff. Two resident deaths. Outbreak began Nov. 23.
20. Alternative Homes for Youth: Five lab-confirmed cases and one probable case among residents. Six cases among staff. Outbreak began Nov. 19.
21. JBS Greeley Beef Plant: 73 cases among staff. Outbreak began Nov. 17.
22. Boulder Scientific Company: Eight cases among staff. Outbreak began Nov. 17.
23. Vestas Blades-Windsor: 33 lab-confirmed and four probable cases. Outbreak began Nov. 16.
24. Greeley West High School: Eight cases among staff and 13 cases among students. Outbreak began Nov. 9.
25. Vestas Blades-Brighton: 33 lab-confirmed and five probable cases. Outbreak began Nov. 9.
26. Carestream Health Inc.: 13 lab-confirmed and three probable cases among staff. Outbreak began Nov. 6.
27. McLane Western: 66 lab-confirmed and two probable cases. Outbreak began Oct. 30.
28. Life Care Center of Greeley: 23 lab-confirmed and four probable cases among residents. 25 lab-confirmed cases and one probable case among staff. 10 resident deaths. Outbreak began Oct. 29.
29. JBS Corporate: 53 cases among staff. Outbreak began Oct. 19.
30. Grace Pointe Continuing Care Senior Campus: 24 cases among residents. 31 lab-confirmed cases and one probable case among staff. Three resident deaths. Outbreak began Sept. 30.
31. Weld County Jail: 78 cases among inmates, 26 cases among staff and one inmate death. Outbreak began April 1.
32. Owen’s Illinois: 26 lab-confirmed and three probable cases. Outbreak began Nov. 19. No new cases since the week of Dec. 9.
33. Nature’s Herbs and Wellness Center: Six cases among staff. Outbreak began Oct. 28. No new cases since the week of Dec. 9.
34. Canvas Credit Union-Greeley: Four cases. Outbreak began Nov. 6. No new cases since the week of Dec. 9.
35. Erie Middle School: Six cases among students and one probable case among staff. Outbreak began Nov. 22. No new cases since the week of Dec. 2.
36. Fort Lupton City Hall: Five cases. Outbreak began Nov. 24. No new cases since the week of Dec. 2.
37. City of Evans Police Department: Seven cases. Outbreak began Nov. 2. No new cases since the week of Nov. 25.
38. Summit Bodyworks: Two lab-confirmed and four probable cases. Outbreak began Nov. 10. No new cases since the week of Nov. 11.
39. Town of Firestone: 11 cases among staff. Outbreak began Oct. 27. No new cases since the week of Nov. 4.

Weld County officials reported nine COVID-19 deaths in the past week, bringing the total number of deaths to 165. The state reported 266 deaths among people who died with COVID-19 in Weld, an increase of 13.

Weld County remains at the Level Red: Severe Risk phase, with a two-week cumulative incidence rate of 714.7, a two-week average positivity rate of 11% and 10 days of declining or stable hospitalizations, according to the state. The state tracks hospitalizations by the county of residence of patients.
