TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — An 18-year-old suspect was detained by the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office Monday afternoon.
Deputies say they responded to a shots fired call near Berryhill Public Schools.
TCSO believes that the suspect, Daniel Lorta, and the victim know each other.
Deputies also say Lorta was arrested last week for assault with a deadly weapon when he fired shots during a dispute.
He was booked into the Tulsa County jail for obstructing a police officer and pointing a deadly weapon.
TCSO advised Berryhill Public Schools to go into a soft lockdown while they handled and secured the situation.
BPS says students were locked within the buildings and that no visitors were allowed in during the lockdown.
The school announced the lockdown had been lifted via Facebook at 2:45 p.m. and that bus routes and student pickup will run as normal.
