SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials on Sunday announced 118 additional positive tests for COVID-19, as well as 12 additional deaths from the disease.
Most of the new positive tests were in the hotspots of Bernalillo, McKinley and San Juan counties. Five of the deaths announced Sunday were patients who had been residents of the Life Care Center of Farmington in San Juan County.
Doña Ana County recorded six new cases. Nearby Luna and Grant counties each tallied one new case.
New Mexico has recorded 3,850 positive tests for COVID-19. That's about 5 percent of the 77,977 who have been tested.
There are 164 patients hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19 and 832 COVID-19 cases are designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.

The number of deaths of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 151. The most recent deaths are:
- A male in his 60s from Bernalillo County who was hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions.
- A female in her 80s from Bernalillo County who was hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions. She was a resident of the Village at Alameda in Albuquerque.
- A female in her 50s from McKinley County who was hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions.
- A male in his 50s from Sandoval County who was hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions.
- A male in his 70s from Sandoval County who was hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions.
- A male in his 50s from San Juan County who was hospitalized.
- A male in his 90s from San Juan County who had underlying medical conditions and was a resident of the Life Care Center of Farmington.
- A female in her 90s from San Juan County who had underlying medical conditions and was a resident of the Life Care Center of Farmington.
- A female in her 80s from San Juan County who had underlying medical conditions and was a resident of the Life Care Center of Farmington.
- Another female in her 80s from San Juan County who had underlying medical conditions and was a resident of the Life Care Center of Farmington.
- A female in her 70s from San Juan County who had underlying medical conditions and was a resident of the Life Care Center of Farmington.
- A female in her 60s from Valencia County who was hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions.

Hacienda's of Grace Village reports a caregiver was sent home after a positive test for COVID-19. No other residents or caregivers at the facility have tested positive.
Who may be considered for COVID-19 testing?
New Mexicans who report symptoms of COVID-19 infection, such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath, should call their health care provider or the NMDOH COVID-19 hotline immediately at 1-855-600-3453.
Thanks to increased statewide testing capacity, the following people may now be considered for COVID-19 testing:
- Asymptomatic people who are close contacts or household members of New Mexico residents who have already tested positive for the coronavirus;
- Asymptomatic residents in nursing homes;
- Asymptomatic people in congregant settings such as homeless shelters, group homes, detention centers;
- Symptomatic people displaying the COVID-19 symptoms of cough, fever, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and/or loss of taste or smell.
